I am new to this publishing business. So I had no idea, until this very moment, how important preorders are for a new author.
Cut to a little over a month before release, and here I am, learning that lesson.
I hate talking about myself. I hate asking people for help. So this whole “marketing myself and my book” thing? My actual nightmare.
And then my agent made a suggestion: why not make preorders a force of good?
So, that’s what we’re doing. For every 100 preorders before September 1st, I’m donating $50 to the Transgender Law Center, “the largest national trans-led organization advocating self-determination for all people.” I truly wish I could donate more, but I’m not at George R.R. Martin-level success just yet, and I remain a North Carolina schoolteacher, so (for the moment) $50/100 orders is what I can manage.
What does that mean? It means I need your help! If you’ve preordered already, THANK YOU SO MUCH. Your order absolutely counts, and we are EVER so close to our first 100 preorders! All I need from you? Tell a friend, a neighbor, a colleague about the second-chance romantasy your friend wrote—and how it’s all about feminine rage and smashing the patriarchy.
If you have yet to preorder SONG, I’ve attached the link below, along with my favorite North Carolina indie bookstores and all of SONG’s various formats.
We are getting so VERY close, friends. Thank you for being with me on this journey. It means more than you will ever know.
